B Lab Ireland and the B Corp movement

B Lab Ireland is part of an international nonprofit network that creates economic systems change through standards, policies, tools, and programs for business, and certifies companies—known as B Corps—who are leading the way.

B Corps are companies that go through the B Impact Assessment tool and are verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. 

Moreover, B Corps legally commit to consider the impact of their decisions not just on shareholders but on all stakeholders, including workers, customers, communities, and the environment.

Founded in late 2023, B Lab Ireland now supports the growth of the B Corp movement in Ireland, helping Irish businesses to improve their impact and drive collective action.

The B Corp movement is a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Globally, there are now over 10,000 B Corps, employing over 1 million people in 100+ countries across 160+ industries with 1 unifying goal: to build an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economic system for all people and the planet.

Today, Ireland is home to almost 100 Certified B Corps, representing €2 billion in collective revenue and employing more than 6000 people nationwide. This demonstrates how businesses that lead with purpose are driving both jobs and economic growth.

Beyond certified Irish companies, there are 400+ more international B Corps with operations here, showing Ireland’s growing role in the global movement.
