Climate Action Programme

Climate Action is a multimedia platform consisting of a website, newsletter and annual publication, produced in partnership with UNEP. It aims to encourage businesses and large organisations to reduce their carbon footprint, and puts forward the business case for climate change – namely, that environmental responsibility can also be profitable.

Climate Action came out of an initiative launched in 1998 – Sustainable Development International (SDI), a quarterly publication and accompanying website which provided senior decision makers in the public, private and intergovernmental sectors with sustainable development and corporate social responsibility reference resources. SDI worked closely with UNEP, and a formal partnership was agreed between Henley Media Group and UNEP in 2006, to develop the Climate Action platform.

Climate Action is an annual publication produced in partnership with UNEP and supported by a high level official UNEP networking event, website and newsletter. It aims to assist businesses and large organisations to reduce their carbon footprint, making the business case for mitigating and adapting to climate change and highlighting that environmental responsibility can also be profitable.

Launched in Bali in 2007 at COP 13, the fifth edition of Climate Action was recently launched at COP17 in Durban, South Africa and was distributed to over 30,000 key decision makers within business, government and institutional investment communities.
