EcoBuild 2015 – the market place for green building innovation

Professionals keen to procure new services and solutions should head to Ecobuild 2015 (3rd to 5th March 2015, ExCeL London) where the latest new products and solutions will be on display from over 800 leading companies across the sustainable built environment. Register for your complimentary ticket by visiting - www.ecobuild.co.uk.

Ecobuild will house thousands of new products and solutions, with the 2015 event split conveniently into two main sections; Sustainable Design & Construction and Energy.

In Sustainable Design & Construction, visitors will see an array of the latest products, from magnetic plaster, heat reflective paint and vertical forests, to the very latest vacuum insulation panels and LEDs producing 8 different lighting effects.

In Energy, visitors should check out the latest biomass boilers which can burn up to three different fuel types simultaneously, a solar carport, brine-water ground source heat pumps and the first commercially available micro fuel cell for domestic use.

So what else is in store for you at Ecobuild 2015?

Following overwhelming feedback that new products and solutions are a key reason visitors attend the event, Ecobuild has incorporated a curated innovation exhibition, The Big Innovation Showcase around the South Arena.

Headed up by Ecobuild’s official Product Innovation Partner retail giant Marks & Spencer, the exhibition will highlight a selection of the best new products from across the sustainable built environment.

The Big Innovation Pitch!

Marks & Spencer is embarking on a hunt for the latest innovative solutions on display at Ecobuild to apply to their existing stores. A joint initiative between M&S and Ecobuild, The Big Innovation Pitch aims to unearth true sustainable innovations across Ecobuild’s exhibitors and highlight the hottest solutions to check out at the show.

The final heat culminates on the show floor as finalists participate in a live pitch to an expert judging panel including senior representation from M&S and other leading industry voices. M&S will work with the winning company to investigate applying the winning product or service in its buildings.

Following the second heat of The Big Innovation Pitch, the top products and solutions shortlisted by M&S will be on display around the South Arena in the innovation area.

Conference

Signing his first public speaking commitment since winning the RIBA Stirling Prize this year, architect Steve Tompkins of Haworth Tompkins will join the Independent’s architecture critic Jay Merrick, in conversation as part of Ecobuild’s esteemed conference programme.

Ecobuild will also play host to sessions with Sir John Armitt, former Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority, and Lord Deben, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change;  and Green leader Party Natalie Bennett as part of the programme.

For housebuilders and contractors, esteemed construction magnate James Wates, Chairman of £1bn contractor Wates and chair of the CITB will discuss – ‘are we up to the job of delivering sustainable buildings that work?’

CPD at Ecobuild

For the first time, visitors to Ecobuild can access formal CPD opportunities by attending any official Ecobuild seminar session at the 2015 event.

Organiser UBM has worked with the Construction CPD Certification Service to ensure that each of the 80+ seminar sessions are now compatible and applicable with global Continuing Professional Development principles.

The Refurb & Retrofit stream sponsored by Glow-worm will take a look at the latest successful refurbishment strategies with case studies at the individual, neighbourhood and community scale and the most effective ways of leveraging government incentives.

Concrete and Masonry Pavilion

Working closely with The Concrete Centre and British Precast, Ecobuild will host its first ever dedicated Concrete and Masonry Pavilion.

Located in the North Hall, this new Pavilion will provide visitors with access to product and design experts. Supported by manufacturers, solution providers and industry bodies, the pavilion includes a low energy housing feature, a seminar theatre as well as the products and solutions to enable designers to utilise the sustainable credentials of concrete in the built environment.

Exporting opportunities for manufacturers and construction SMEs

Government partner UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will lead sessions and advice clinics on the routes to overseas markets for UK product manufacturers and construction SMEs keen to explore the global economy.

With an objective to attract inward investment and drive export growth for the UK green construction sector at the 2015 event, UKTI will bring representatives from their international offices to Ecobuild next March to help UK companies who want to expand/export globally.

Sessions at Ecobuild will run across all three days for both first time exporters and companies wanting to increase the markets they export to. There is also the opportunity to have one-to-one meetings with representatives from UKTI’s international offices in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Italy, Philippines, Russia, South Africa and United Arab Emirates with more markets to be added.
