I am partnering with a successful, boutique Ecological consutlancy based in Bolton, who are currently seeking a Senior / Principal Ecologist to join the team. You would be joining a small, tight knit team of passionate Ecologists, primarily based out of the North West, with survey work available across England and Wales available.
The role requires an individual with experience managing consultant Ecologists and external contractors across a range of UK-based Ecoligical surveys. You will have the opportunity to mentor all existing, and new, consultants as they gain experience and work towards lincenses / chartership. In addition to this, you will also be working closely with the Directorial team on various strategic responsibitlies, as such, experience submitting tenders, business development and networking are all considered advantageous.
Qualifications / Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology (or related subject)
* Must have Natural England Bat Level 1 (Level 2 advantageous)
* Other EPSM licenses are highly desirable (GCN, Dormouse, Barn Owl etc)
* Experience writing Bat EPSL’s
* Expert in completing PEA’s, EcIA’s and Protected Species Surveys
* Confident individually writing full reports.
The Role:
* Complete protected species surveys and ecological appraisals.
* BNG Assessments and provision of expert advice to clients.
* Completion of PEA, UK Habs and EPSM surveys
* Work closely with external clients for business development purposes
* Manage own projects under supervision from Ecology Director
* Work closely with the Landscape Architecture team on collaborative projects
