Associate Director - Highways Division

We are seeking an Associate Director for Highways and Active Travel to join an esteemed Infrastructure team at their Cork or Dublin offices. With a minimum of 15 years of experience, the successful candidate will become part of a well-established company, gaining exposure to diverse projects such as national roads, greenway and active travel initiatives, and major highways design and build schemes. This role provides a clear career development path leading to a Director position.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
2. Manage a project portfolio, maintaining client relationships and communications.
3. Mentor and manage junior Project Managers within the Highways and Active Travel Sector.
4. Supervise and mentor senior and junior staff within the same sector.
5. Plan and manage design work, collaborating closely with Engineering Discipline Leads and Technicians.
6. Prepare technical reports and tender documents.
7. Coordinate work with other project and infrastructure team members.
8. Ensure compliance with quality assurance, management systems, and relevant health and safety legislation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with Chartered Engineer status.
• 15 years post-graduate experience in highways, greenway, and active travel scheme design and project management.
• Experience in delivering design and build projects is advantageous.
• Proficient in multi-disciplinary design management.
• Strong client engagement, stakeholder interaction, and budget management skills.
• High-energy professional with excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Flexibility, teamwork, and initiative are essential.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.
• Full Drivers Licence.
