Our client is a successful multidisciplinary consultancy with operations across civil/ structural engineering and environment. They currently have an urgent requirement for a Senior Ecologist to join their Environmental team in Dublin.

You will have the opportunity to undertake and manage a wide variety of projects across the highways and infrastructure sectors. We are particularly keen to hear from Ecologists with experience in the preparation of EcIAs, good technical surveying knowledge and experience as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW).

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

* Undertake scoping and project management for a range of medium and large-scale infrastructure (road/ rail) and buildings projects
* Provide ecological input and advice for all types of projects, including the preparation of Environmental Statement (ES), Natura Impact Statements and EcIAs.
* Plan, coordinate and undertake specialist fieldwork, including habitat and protected species surveys
* Undertake ECoW duties as required
* Project management, including preparation of technical reports, fee proposals and tenders for a range of medium and large-scale projects
* Review of reports and mentoring of more junior team members
* Liaison with clients/ stakeholders/ contractors and promotion of business to prospective clients/ partners

Qualifications / Experience:

* Degree educated or similar qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Ecology)
* Chartered or working towards chartership (e.g. CIEEM / CEnv)
* Project management experience including scoping, estimating and tendering for new work
* Sound appreciation of the EcIA reporting process and relevant legislation and guidance
* Experience of preparing mitigation method statements and licence applications
* Strong field skills covering a range of taxa
* Experience in GIS (ArcGIs/ MapInfo) is desirable but not essential
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
