Our client is highly regarded transport and engineering consultancy with a global reach. They are currently seeking to appoint an ambitious Senior or Principal Transport Consultant to lead and grow their development planning team in Dublin.

The ideal candidate will have proven development planning experience, including access feasibility studies, scoping studies, transport statements, transport assessments, travel plans and negotiation with local authorities and highways agencies. You will have the opportunity to become part of a rapidly growing team assisting on an exciting array of local, national and international development planning projects in the residential, commercial, retail and educational sectors.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

* Preparation and review of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Transport Statements for a variety of proposals
* Developing junction models and small scale microsimulation models to assess the impact of developments on the road network
* Preparing high quality reports and presentations on behalf of and for clients
* Client liaison and attending and participating in public consultations
* Project management of small, medium and large projects accounting for budgetary and time constraints
* Mentoring and facilitating professional development of junior members of staff and CAD technicians
* Developing business with existing and prospective clients

Qualifications / Experience:

* Degree or Masters educated in a relevant discipline
* Demonstrable development planning experience within a consultancy environment
* Good understanding of regional and national transport policy, as well as highways design standards (DMURS)
* Experience in junction modelling software (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig and TRANSYT) is essential
* Knowledge of microsimulation (VISSIM / PARAMICS) would be advantageous
* Excellent written and verbal communicative skills
