Opportunity:

An exciting and growing environmental consultancy are looking to take on an Senior/Principal ecologist to join their expanding team. Working on an exciting portfolio of projects, including opportunities to support on unique urban biodiversity projects such as bespoke ecological monitoring of living roofs and green infrastructure strategy production, you will be primarily conducting ecological surveys.

Role & Company:

As an Ecology Consultant you will be involved throughout all stages of planning, development and corporate sustainability. A key part of your role will include collaborating with project managers, planners and architects to come up with the best solutions for delivering ecological mitigation plans concerning protected species in complex scenarios.

Alongside this you will be responsible for tender production, financial management and project programming to help create ground breaking solutions for integrating biodiversity within the built form. With a wealth of experience across a range of sectors and through all stages of planning, development and corporate sustainability, the organisation is committed to maintaining a deep understanding of the built, natural and social environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

* BSc in a relevant scientific degree (ecology, environmental science or similar)
* Experience in professional ecological surveying, particularly in bats, GCN and reptiles
* Excellent report writing skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and building good working client relationships
* Full UK drivers licence
* MSc in relevant scientific subject (desirable)
* Hold a European protected species licence for bats, GCN and/or dormice (desirable)
* Experience/knowledge of green infrastructure and working with urban biodiversity (desirable)
