The Role:

Our client, who is a Tier 1 Contractor are currently recruiting for Project Engineers in the Dublin Region.

Candidates will  be required to demonstrate capability and experience in dealing with challenging projects.  We are looking to hear from ambitious Project Engineers looking to progress their career, you will have excellent communication and negotiating skills with a proven record working on major projects within the Irish / UK  industry. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget to the highest quality & safety standards.  You will be supported in your role by a Contracts Manager, with career progression available.  This is a great opportunity to join a prestigious main contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the setting out engineers and supporting the Project Manager with the day to day running of the project
  • Good knowledge & understanding of the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014
  • Acting under the Project Manager as a technical adviser on site for specialist subcontractors, concrete contractors 
  • Checking plans, drawings and supervising of junior engineers
  • Detailed knowledge of setting out procedures and engineering principles.  Setting out of the works as required
  • Competent in the use of instruments (Total Station etc) for purposes of setting out and gathering information
  • Liaise with design team as necessary
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
  • Work closely with the site team to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget to the highest quality & safety standards
  • Overseeing quality control and  the implementation of the companies of health & safety policy on site; including  the formulation of  QA inspection & test plans
  • Preparing reports as required
  • Maintain as-built records
  • Pro - active approach to resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise. 

 

Education / Experience:

•3-5 yrs previous experience

•Previous concrete frame experience an advantage

•Operational knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations

•Excellent communication and planning skills

•IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and AutoCAD.  Experience of BIM / Revit an advantage.
